P.S. to my most recent message: Concerning the problem with mom's phone number, she has not window-shopped online or bought anything since the day we first started doing these security steps, yet her number has somehow been compromised--how can this be?

I would not necessarily assume that it has been compromised. They have auto dialers that simply dial every possible number. Don't respond to the texts though. For example, they will often say, text "stop" to stop these notices, and if you respond to them they will know it's a real number. Simply block the number, delete the message and move on.

Hi Glenn, we don't recall if we asked this about MySudo: even though it's for phone only, and Mom hardly uses her phone, how can it be used to make purchases on her computer? She does her shopping this way because she can see everything better on a normal big screen rather than a tiny phone screen. So how can this be done with MySudo?

I was about to just say no, but I went to MySudo and did some research and it looks like they are coming our with a desktop, web-based version of MySudo. It looks like it is still in Beta. Check it out here: https://support.mysudo.com/hc/en-us/articles/360021276733-MySudo-Web-BETA-Known-Issues-Notes-and-Features-coming-soon-

Hi Glenn, about Privacy, the gal we've been emailing back and forth finally understood which account we wanted to use and got rid of the other one. I got to the point where I signed up and then signed in, waited for a verification code, entered it in, then I had to wait for another confirmation email with a link that would let us start using privacy, supposedly. Well, even though I told Privacy 3 times, "Resend the email" because I never got the link, nothing would happen. So I told our Privacy rep and am still awaiting her response. This is the only step to getting into mom's account that we are waiting on, and, I'm telling you, from start to finish, that this has taken six weeks, and this is nothing more than poor customer service. We feel like we were the only ones who had these issues with Privacy. It doesn't seem that anyone else had this experience.

Did you check your junk folder or spam folder to see if the email went into that? The website itself should work well enough that you don't need to contact customer service. I have rarely ever had to contact their customer service. Just be aware though, that when you start locking things down super tight, sometimes things don't work perfectly. Websites don't like it when they can track you and put cookies on your computer or open pop-up windows. Check the junk mail. I think that's where it probably went.

Hi again, I notice that when places we sign into sometimes use 2-F (verification codes) to have us sign in--and these are often emailed to us, that they say we signed in using Chrome, not Brave. If we have been using Brave, why then do many sites detect it as the Chrome browser? This is quite unnerving to us.

Hi Faith. Sorry for the delay. I took the Easter weekend off. Brave is based on an old version of Chrome that they have reworked and de-Googled. You are fine with Brave.

Hi Glenn, I think we have fixed the confusion with the 2 accounts on Privacy so that it knows mom will only have one account, because the rep helped us for the most part. However, we both still do not feel we are keeping our anonymity by having to give out our real address and phone numbers to different places wee go to, including Privacy. What do you recommend?

For Privacy.com itself, you probably need to give them your info. You can try setting it up with a PO Box, but I don't think it will work. But for anything that you buy with your privacy.com, you don't need to use your real name or address.

Hi Glenn, we have our phones and computer updated, but concerning Privacy, the gal we've been emailing back and forth for six weeks doesn't seem to understand our problem. The only bank connected with them that sounds like ours, but isn't, is a bank in Michigan. That gal at Privacy thinks we have an account over there, but we don't. They don't have anything to do with our bank in Montana. We even called our bank, and the one in Michigan to verify this. Obviously, God is saying that Privacy is not for us. It just hasn't turned out well.

That being said, do you know any desktop app that is like Privacy? How can mom use MySudo on her phone to do her shopping on her computer, which she always shops online with?

Hi Faith and Moni. You've emailed me back and forth on this a couple times, and I am still having a hard time understanding your point that they aren't seeing your bank. They give you two ways to connect your bank account to Privacy.com. The first way is a list of banks that you can choose from, but I don't like this way. I prefer the second option which is simply to enter your bank account number and your routing number, which you can get directly off of your check. This is the better way to do it and there won't be any confusion. The routing number specifically identifies your bank. As far as I know, they accept all US Banks in this way. As far as other options, as I said, MySudo is an option, but I don't like how it is only available on your phone and it's not available on desktop. You can search for "disposable credit card numbers" and there are some other options, but I don't have experience with them and therefore can't recommend them.
