Geek Corner. Two Book Recommendations and an Interesting Link...
Michio Kaku; My Favorite Theoretical Physicist!
I'm not sure how many people in my audience are as into astronomy and sci-fi as I am, so instead of making this three different posts I'm going to cram it into one.
FIRST, I want to tell you about my latest favorite book from my favorite theoretical physicist (yes, I have a favorite physicist). His name is Michio Kaku and the book is called "The Future of Humanity; Terraforming Mars, Interstellar Travel, Immortality and our Destiny Beyond Earth". Michio Kaku is a rare genius who is not only as smart as they come, but he is truly gifted at explaining complex concepts in an entertaining way. He covers a lot of subjects, from the gas giants, to human physiology, interstellar travel and more. What I love most is how he effortlessly transitions from one topic to the next. I recommend the audiobook, and listen to it on your Audible App.
SECOND, I discovered a new Star Wars book that I like very much. It's called Star Wars; From a Certain Point of View. It's a very interesting book because it takes another look at the original Star Wars movie, but it does so in a very creative way. They asked 40 authors to take moments from the original story and look at it from another perspective. For example, there is a short story that tells of the moments before the Star Wars movie starts. Another story tells of Grand Moff Tarkin and how he got command of the Death Star. It's a great way to reimagine the original story in a fun way.
THIRD, I also thought you would find this answer on Quora very interesting. The question is, "What is something that almost nobody knows about exoplanets?" Here's the great answer.
If you are also an astronomy and sci-fi fan, tell me in the comments.
