This is super interesting
The first two classes I took at University were calculus and accounting.
Calculus is a rediculus subject, in my humble opinion, that has no practical application in the worlds of man. Add to this the fact that the class was taught in an auditorium with 350 people, by a graduate student who happened to be Chinese with very bad English. It was a very bad experience for me.
The accounting class was almost as bad. Remember Ben Stein from the movie Ferris Bueller’s Day Off? Completely monotone, one speed, no clue how to connect with people and the most boring person you’ve ever met. Yes, that was my teacher, and my 19 year old, hormonal body couldn’t take it.
You’d think that I would be done with math and numbers, but I’m actually deeply curious about numbers. From the human calculator, to today’s subject, Europe’s forgotten number system. I find this video to be fascinating and I hope you do too…

I think math was exciting, because of my teacher he was so excited about it and getting us involved. It wasn't a job, but a passion, I was lucky to get Mr. M's class.
He was Italian from Brooklyn, very expressed in his thirties and excited to teach and interact, fell in love with math. My Mom was so surprised that I was so dedicated to do extra credit she had to meet him, because I was so excited to do my homework and even push for extra credit.
So much of those math formulas I learned in High School and College where used in doing programming. Now it's used for webpages, apps, payments,etc, and how we connect to each other. Believe me it's used for something.
Glen, thanks for mentioning this! It is so fascinating and interesting. I now have a new secret number code system to use that virtually no one else even has a clue about!
Heck, if I wanted to I could actually write my combination on the door of my safe and neither Chuck (posted below), nor even a skilled burglar would be able to figure it out and open it!
