“Even a happy life cannot be without a measure of darkness, and the word happy would lose its meaning if it were not balanced by sadness. It is far better to take things as they come along with patience and equanimity.”
Carl Jung
Hi from Glenn!
I hope you’re having a great week!
Here are the five points I think you will like today...
🏃♂️🏋🏼♀️ FIRST, maybe it’s time to change how we look at stress.
When we lift weights, we put stress on our muscles, which causes them to grow.
When we fast (properly), we put stress on our gut bacteria that increases bacterial diversity (a good thing) while decreasing the presence of bad bacteria.
Exposing ourselves to and adapting to temperature extremes can improve our health and make us feel better.
Having some parasites in our bodies (which cause immune system stress) has been shown to reduce and even eliminate many modern diseases, such as MS and Celiac’s Disease.
Exposure to viruses and bacteria is exactly how our immune system develops and becomes strong.
Hard times strengthen relationships.
Indeed, life itself is stress on all different levels, and I believe there is a spiritual purpose behind this stress. God has put us here to face the trials of life, because each trial is also an opportunity for growth.
But modern life seems to be the pursuit of less stress. Homes protect us from the elements. Beds are the ultimate in comfort. Money gives us the power to be pampered every minute of the day. Modern medicine says that we should lather up with antibacterial lotion so we can hide from the stresses of bacteria and viruses. Grocery stores give us access to plentiful food, so we never go without.
But maybe we should reexamine our desire to live a stress-free life. Maybe we should just wash our hands instead of lathering up with alcohol, so we can keep the good bacteria on our skin happy. Maybe we should grow a portion of our own food so we can eat the best food while getting dirty in the meantime. Maybe we should explore whether intermittent fasting would make us healthier.
Perhaps the purpose that we all look for, and even the meaning of life itself can actually be found in the daily stresses that we try so hard to avoid.
So next time that life throws you a curve ball, accept it with grace. Even thank God for the opportunity he has given you to grow.
What are your thoughts?

I’m an independent voice who is a truth seeker, which is rare in today’s world of activist journalists and commentators who try to stoke the division and hate that is consuming our country. This newsletter is currently not bringing in enough money to support itself, so your support will definitely help.
🏄🏻♂️ 🚣🏻♀️ FOURTH, a couple years ago I found something called Foundation Training. This is a simple explainer video that shows you what it is. I recommend this YouTube channel. This is good stress!
Here’s a Foundation Training exercise that works great for me…
🛕🏊 FIFTH, this guy is pretty incredible.
What do you think?
Have a great week!

💬 P.S. If you like this newsletter and you like what I have to say, please consider becoming a Premium Member. It’s only $5 per month (or give more if you can). I am an independent voice. I don’t work for anyone else, so the only money I make is from people who become premium subscribers. I think it’s important to support independent voices who are actual truth seekers, because this is a rare thing in our world today. Journalists have lost their way, and many commentators stoke the division and hate that is consuming our country. Your support will definitely help.
Great stuff!
Lots of lovely 'reminders' in the old man's video, and he was younger than me!
