Apparently I forgot to include the links to the de-Googled phone. Sorry about that.

The link to purchase the de-Googled phone is this: https://abovephone.com/?above=pap

The link to install Graphene OS on your own phone is this: https://grapheneos.org/install/

If you want to learn more about de-Googled phones, I did an interview with Ramiro that went deep. See it here: https://privacyacademy.com/above-phone/

Not happy about having to download the newsletter to read. Why isn't it published on Substack?

Glenn could you please provide the links here in the comments to purchase a Graphene OS phone? I downloaded your newsletter and it's on Adobe on my phone and I can't access the Graphene OS site through Adobe! Thanks 🙂

Thank you Glenn! 👍👍Also there's another issue that's come up for us people who love internet privacy and security! Proton VPN's latest update is terrible! They've changed the free VPN service and people on the free plan now can't choose their own servers anymore, Proton chooses at random which servers free subscribers can access now! I just did my regular update to the Proton app on the Google store and I looked through the reviews for Proton and people are extremely unhappy with these changes to the free VPN service! I sent Proton and extensively long email about this change myself complaining! I was planning to upgrade to a paid Proton subscription but I don't want to now! Could you please recommend another good VPN service to people! I know other VPN's don't offer free subscriptions like Proton but I would rather pay for a service that I trust! I don't trust Proton anymore and neither do other people! This change that Proton has made to the free VPN subscription is a deal breaker for a lot of people, including myself! I was wondering if you knew why Proton made this change? But it's not good and this is going to hurt Proton! I don't recommend Proton anymore! I'm tolerating Proton VPN right now until I get a new de-googled phone then I'm moving on to another VPN service but I don't any really good and trustworthy VPN's!

Hi Amii. I don't recommend the free version of the VPN. If you want another suggestion for a VPN, try iVPN.net or Mullvad.net

Thank you Glenn! Yeah other tech people that I listen too also recommend these 2 VPN services! But out of all the different tech people out there I trust your recommendations Most of all! So thank you! 😊 And of course any free service isn't meant to be long term! I really wanted to upgrade with Proton when I got my new phone but I'm going to check out these other 2 VPN's! 👍👍

The only site that I know you can purchase a phone that has GrapheneOS installed would be from https://abovephone.com/ (I am not affiliated).

We have heard a lot of promotion of the de-Googled phone. My question is this:

Can it process all functions, such as crypto buying/selling and exchanging without glitches that require workarounds, the downloading of additional apps and other undisclosed problems?

We will have a training on this next week.

You can install nearly all apps from Aurora or F-Droid.

Answering your question...nearly all of the Android apps work...but some Banking apps have had issues without having the Play Store installed.

This question may have an existing discussion that may answer your question more specficially.

https://discuss.grapheneos.org/

You *can* install the Play Store on GrapheneOS and it will run with "normal" application permissions, rather than the system level that it would have with a typical Android installation.

https://grapheneos.org/usage#sandboxed-google-play

You can also install the Play Store in a separate profile to add another layer of isolation.

I don't recommend installing Google Playstore to a de-Googled phone - F-droid is good and Aurora is good if you are careful of the apps you download. I encourage you to keep apps to a minimum, because the vast majority of apps are spyware. I also do not have any banking apps or sensitive apps on my phone, even on a de-Googled phone because if someone steals your phone and gets access to it they can gain access to your banking apps.

I don't understand the last sentence about a separate profile.

You can learn more about it by reading previous discussions (I wouldn't be able to say it better).

Profiles are also available in Android:

I presume that this answers the question on whether a De-googled phone can work with banking apps, crypto buying/selling and swapping apps etc. If this is the reference I thank you for the information.
