Yes, more and more places are doing this. It's best to stay with locally owned stores, but then again, some of these locally owned stores use Tiffin Tom. Cash is best. You are right.
Hi Glenn! I'm glad that you posted this information about ordering take out food online and using the restaurant apps! I have a perfect example about this as well! My example is about Domino's Pizza! Close to where I live I have a Domino's Pizza down the street and it was very convenient because I could call in and have my order delivered then pay in cash when my order arrived. Well very recently I called Domino's to place an order and nobody would answer the phone, I called about 3 times. My husband even went to Domino's in person to place an order and when he came back home he told me that the door was locked and he saw cars in the parking lot so he knew that they were open! So we both basically figured out that Domino's Pizza is pushing customers to order and pay online with a credit or debit card and use the phone app then have their order delivered. So I went to Domino's website to learn about their online ordering just to see what they do because I've never felt comfortable placing an order online at a restaurant and paying online. Well to order online at Domino's you have to put your name, full home address, phone number and credit or debit card number and create an online ordering profile. Of course your full credit card and debit card numbers are not all visible, just the last 4 numbers I believe are visible showing how your account is identified. But that doesn't mean that your personal information is secure. In seeing what this particular Domino's was asking for regarding people's personal information made me uncomfortable and I started feeling π©π©π©π© eventhough this restaurant was down the street from me. I thought "No! This is not safe and secure and I'm uncomfortable with this!" So me and my husband don't order from Domino's now. We go to Pizza Inn and Pizza Inn still takes call in orders, in person orders and delivers orders. Pizza Inn is still old school an takes every form of payment, cash, credit or debit cards. But in learning more about online security from you Glenn me and my husband only pay in cash at restaurants now because you really don't know how encrypted your personal information is.
