Glenn: I read the posts by Vanessa and Glenn. I voted for Trump because my only other real choice was Clinton. I don't believe in dynasties and further, Clinton was just not the type of person I wanted to see in the white house. Her negative qualities are just too numerous to list here. While I too believe he was rude and crude, we have had rude and crude presidents before and survived. We survived LBJ who was perhaps the rudest and crudest president in our history. What Trump did do that I found laudatory and I believe is the root of the democrats five-year-old temper tantrum about his election is he tried to reverse the slide of our government into socialism and tried to stem the ever encroachment of the federal government into all facets of our personal lives.
With regard to Vanessa, she lost all credibility she might have had when she, like Billary, talked about walking around in Spain while Guarda Civil were firing their automatic weapons. No sane person walks around while automatic weapons are firing.
Personally, after all the inflammatory language from democratic politicians over the last four years such a Maxine Waters. If Trump is guilty of inflammatory language, then so is Maxine Waters. If we are going to clean house, then let's do a thorough job of it.
Personally I did not find Trump's words in his speech inflammatory. We use "let's fight" very commonly in our every day speech. Let's fight for justice. Let's fight for equal rights. Even attorney ads on television use those words "We will fight for you." The democrats have encouraged violence in the country for at least the last four years. They have wasted four years of the people's time in their constant attempts at hindering the business of this country. Look at the time and money wasted on the spurious Russian connection. If Putin bought Trump, he needs to go to the Better Business Bureau with a complaint about not getting what he paid for. Trump did everything to hinder Russia short of declaring war. That investigation was such a dumb move it was hard for me to believe anyone with an IQ over 50 would believe it. Perhaps that is the problem — too many politicians and bureaucrats in D.C. have an IQ below 50.
The demonstration in front of the congress building did not shock me. I believe it was engendered in some government circles, not by Trump. We need to ask ourselves who gains from such a demonstration? The entrenched politicians are the ones who gain from it in my view. I have long felt that we really don't have two parties. They are both the same with such minor differences as to be indistinguishable. They both enjoy privilege and wealth unavailable to the peasants and serfs. Their only concern is continuing in power so that they may continue to enjoy the high life like John Kerry "A person like me needs to fly hither and yon in a personal jet while I preach living the green life, riding a bike, taking the bus or train for the common herd."
I would like to see Trump run again. I predict if he does, he will win. I hope he starts a third party. It is time that we had more choices than one party. Please don't talk about the peace and freedom party or the green party or the libertarians. They can't get their act together enough to mount a viable candidate. How are they ever going to run something as big as this country.
Therein lies the problem. The country is too big and too diverse to be run by doofuses in D.C. The president is isolated from all except his cronies and other members of the privileged class. He has no real feel for what you and I are concerned about. Although as a member of the private sector rather than the political establishment, he had the opportunity to meet real people more than the isolated political establishment. Again why both the democrats and their fellow companions in corruption, the republicans hated him so much. He was an outsider.
The impeachment Noh drama is again a futile gesture, dog and pony show designed to fool the masses. Trump won't be convicted. This impeachment d&p show is just to cater to the rabid masses who don't like Trump personally. I wouldn't have him over for dinner but I believe he was as effective as he could be considering all the forces aligned against him.
