Hi Glenn, Moni here. My question is, How can one go completely off grid and be totally invisible to the system--if a lot of things we do on our computers and phones depends on the internet? What would be a simple and good start? Thanks?

Hi Monica. The only way to go completely off grid is to literally go off grid, go in the mountains somewhere and totally get away from society. There are people who do extreme privacy while living in society, but it is an all consuming activity. These people are very knowledgeable regarding programming, etc, or they have a lot of money to hire experts full time. You can, however, minimize your footprint, reduce your risk, take thoughtful precautions and be much more private compared to other people. By taking the actions I present in the Privacy Action Plan, you will be much more private and secure than the vast majority of people. I have no way to know the exact number, but my guess is that you will be more private and secure than 90-95% of people. If you want to go beyond this, then be prepared to live and breathe privacy and security.

Hi Glenn. Appreciate the info as always. Could you provide a reference about when you deposit money into a bank it isn't yours anymore? Is it the same for credit unions? I tried to convince my Dad & friends about this a while back when you first mentioned it & they called BS. I'm sure I could find it, but betting you have a link readily available..Thx!

Hi Jay! Here are some resources for you. First, this article from the Economist: https://www.economist.com/finance-and-economics/2012/07/21/burning-sensation

Here's the actual publication from the IMF: https://www.imf.org/external/pubs/ft/sdn/2012/sdn1203.pdf

And this is a great post from Huffpost that explains it: https://www.huffpost.com/entry/new-g20-bailin-rules-now-_b_6244394

I appreciate how you just speak your mind, even though it may upset some folks.Β  This differentiates your newsletter/messages from most others.

What you say in this update is on spot!

What Edward Snowden says in the video should help those who actually think to think more clearly now.Β  Β The "No Choice" hammer has been apparent to me since my twenties:Β  Β The politicians pass laws protectingΒ  privacy to grease their constituents, but in reality nothing really changes.Β  For instance,Β  we do not have to provide our social security numbers for identification -- but how does one live in our world without providing it -- companies simply reply no number, no service.

However, since the ChinaΒ virus, I disagree that we have the power.Β  With rare exception, the countries of the world behave as puppets on a string; so much so that it suggests a coordinator(s).Β  Look at how consistently those in power assume the roles of dictators.Β  There seems to be a master stratagem.Β  The bigger and better the technology becomes, the less power our wills exert.Β  I only foresee a continuation.Β  We need more Glenn Meders in the world who think for themselves.

So glad you included Russell Brand and Snowden speaking their Truth while encouraging us to do the same. Those of us who are AWAKE and AWARE must keep focusing on areas of hope while creating stronger and stronger communities. We can strengthen each other because we care. Thank you, Glenn, for all of your efforts. Diana in Bewildered Portland

The first thing I noticed in the Isaac & Nora videos is how much Nora and her brother are growing up (from those first videos you have shared with us, 2 or 3 years ago I think it was) Whether they sing in spanish or english, Isaac & Nora are always a treat to listen to!
