The only disagreement I have with your comments, Glenn, is that they are not printing money. There are not enough presses capable of printing as much money as we are talking about. The Weimar Republic was printing deutschmarks but that was in the 20's and few countries had a money balance in excess of a billion dollars. We are not talking about even billions today we are talking about staggering numbers that most of us cannot even grasp. I just read a comment somewhere else that if we paid off the national debt at one billion dollars a day it would take us something like 3200 years to pay off the debt we have so far, not counting any gigantic leaps into the unknown with Biden's plan for infrastructure improvements to add trillions more to the debt. I can't do the math involved to dispute the number I quoted above. Nothing I have will handle one trillion most of my devices zero out at 9 billion. Mere pocket change these days.

So my point of contention is saying "printing money" There isn't enough currency to handle the piddling amount of money in individual hands let along the government's enormous debt. Those trillions are just zeros and ones in a computer program. If people went down to their local bank to draw out just what they have in checking and savings accounts there isn't enough paper currency to cover that insignificant amount of money.

In my view the situation is darker and more dangerous than you think. I consider your warnings happy-go-lucky, unbridled enthusiasm. Someone's thinking in the post from April 15 2020 seems tortuous and confused. I don't know what he is trying to say.

It's more accurate to say "money creation" than "printing money", but I use both terms interchangeably. Nowadays they don't even have to print money, they just create it as digits on a computer. For some reason though, I think the term "printing money" conveys the concept better. But I may have to rethink this.

Do you have any thoughts about cryptocurrency?

I assume you mean as a means to store value. I think it may be good for this, and I definitely like the idea of creating free market solutions to money. I also like how portable it is. It is not like gold or silver in that cryptocurrency can become worthless, and it certainly hasn't been proven like gold or silver. I am also wary that the blockchain technology that can be used to set people free from a central banking system can also be perverted by the central bankers to keep track of every single transaction that people make.

Thank you so much for your comments and Beliefs. I think a lot of those theories are correct and at the same time. Keep people busy looking at one hand while the other is doing something else....But, we as a people and nation have to be the one’s to be diligent and stand, take notice and demand since We the People choose our elected. We have to notice , care and do what is right or we won’t keep our democratic republic and we have lost some of it already

I do agree with much of what you said. There is a lot of fear mongering going on in the media. Knowing and talking to people in the medical field, I can tell you there is a reason that the doctors, nurses, and their families that TRY to come out and tell the REAL TRUTH about the scam called Con-19 are being threatened with loss of their jobs, licenses, and their videos are promptly being taken down and censored by both youtube and facebook. Are there people with compromised immune systems getting sick and some dying, YES but NOT to the extent that is being reported. There would be absolutely NO REASON for the CDC to issue a memo to doctors telling them to "over report" deaths that are suspect as Covid-19. No reason at all unless there is deception taking place. The one issue that I do believe is being downplayed is the 5G and its role in what is taking place. There is an effort to install it in hospitals, schools, and other public area as we speak even while this mandated quarantine is in effect. There are videos and photos proving this. When some doctors are reporting that the symptoms people are experiencing are more like altitude sickness with a lack of oxygen and dry cough than a pneumonia where the lungs are filled with fluid, we need to listen. The suspect is 5G and the evidence is all there to prove it while the CDC would rather place the blame on this "boogeyman virus called Covid-19." People can do their own research but there can only be one reason that the people in Wuhan were dropping dead walking down the street with tremors and the like. Completely different symptoms in many cases than here. The hours of video evidence I have seen from China is irrefutable that something else beside just a virus was at work over there. All indicators that it was 5G. Whatever their evil sick motives are, the elite will not win in the end. Romans 12:19 says: Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord." I believe that is a promise.

Thanks Al. I didn't mean to outright dismiss the 5G thing, but I do think it's a distraction from the main culprit being the Fed.

I and many others I know feel the exact same way. Still going to work every day even though quite a bit has changed. Still go to the stores if I need to. No panic and no fear, besides there are many theories how and why this all came about. I and some others already did our own research when it first was made public. Also as a First Responder me and my crew stand ready as we always have been. To many sheep out there following the wolves disguised as sheep. Be the sheep dog and protect yourself and your family from all of this fear mongering and out of control panic. I love this article and will share it like crazy.

I'm a Democrat, not a Trump supporter, but also certain that no party has all the answers. I like to test the pulse of the nation by reading news and opinion, posts and blogs from many sectors with a critical eye toward source and credibility. I'm no expert on the economy, currency, or medicine, but find Glenn Meder's posts and the replies to them a good source of topics for thoughtful research. Slow to jump on any bandwagon, but alarmed at the destruction of the economy in the wake of this pandemic, I read here with interest about Sweden's alternative way to deal with it. I believe in the good will of most people and rarely in conspiracy theories, and I believe in a very loving Divine Intelligence that is available with answers to the seeming complexities of our lives as we learn to go quietly within and seek with all our heart. I am grateful that Glenn recommends spiritual connection as a resource during these times that challenge many of us for different reasons. A favorite verse of mine from Hebrews 8: "I will put my laws into their mind, and write them in their hearts: and I will be a God to them, and they shall be to me a people: And they shall not teach every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, Know the Lord: For all shall know me, form the least to the greatest." And from Deuteronomy 32: "My doctrine shall drop as the rain, my speech shall distil as the dew, as the small rain upon the tender herb, and as the showers upon the grass:"

Glenn, I agree with your article. The love of money IS the root of all evil. Money has a power of influence and control. The hearts of humanity are naturally selfish, so we use money for that end. We need help from a higher power. The financial collapse that's coming, along with the disparities between economic classes, access to information and services...the movements we've seen (and their philosophies) in the last few years like occupy wall street and the yellow jackets in europe are going to lead to another civil war in America. Especially with political situation. When that happens, the truth of all the convulsions in the world will be revealed. Watch for it when that civil war happens...

Thanks Lee. Money is important. It's key to being self-reliant, and it's a huge tool to turn people into slaves. The main reason I keep urging people to watch "The Hidden Secrets of Money" video series is that our ignorance of money is their biggest tool for keeping us in slavery. https://socratesgold.com/crucial-education-about-money/

The article makes a lot of sense and I agree with it. The only part I’m confused about is this: “in 1913 Congress abdicated this authority to the Federal Reserve,” but the great depression happened in the 1930s, so why was their money still backed by gold then?

Moving away from the gold standard was a very risky move, and everything could have collapsed at that moment. They moved away from the gold standard because they didn't have a choice, even though it's what they wanted to do all along. I also think that there is a certain amount of patience required, on their part. If the Fed took over and then they immediately took us off the gold standard, trust would have evaporated. They needed to sit back and become part of the background for a while before doing any major changes.
