Happy New Year! I hope you had a great 2019, and I wish you an even better 2020!

I think it's important to have periodic renewals. Have a look at where you are now, what you've accomplished and where you want to be.

Many people poo-poo New Year's Resolutions because people often have big dreams and then fail to make long term changes. But so what? If we can't dream, we're no more than animals. Dreams set us apart. And there are ways to make the changes stick.

Go forward. Dream big. And don't be scared of failure.

I'd like to tell you about my 2019, what I learned and how I'm moving forward with 2020. Then I'll end up with some important things I've learned. Maybe you will find something in here that will help you.

My 2019...

2019 was a good, eventful year for me, my family and my business.

On a personal level, probably the most significant change in my life was that my son moved out, and he got engaged! We are now empty-nesters, and my wife is especially taking it hard. But, on the other hand, it opens up some new possibilities for us that we are now looking into (FREEDOM!).

I also improved my health in 2019.

There were two diet related things I changed. First, I decided to focus on my gut health. I eat considerably more fiber in my diet (salads, leafy veges, etc) and I've been eating more fermented foods, like live sauerkraut, kimchee, etc. I'm noticed a real change in my gut health, which has affected many other areas of my life.

Second, I greatly changed my diet. I'm not going to say much about this yet, but I feel wonderful. I've gotten rid of sugar, grains and dairy. I also eat only between noon and 7pm - nothing else. No snacking, and no cheat days, and I never feel hungry and I've killed my cravings. I will write an article on this soon to give you the inside scoop on what I'm doing, but like I said, I feel great!

As far as my business goes, I'm making some changes. I'm not quite ready to tell you what these changes are yet, but suffice it to say that I wanted to simplify my life, so I did. I also wanted to do something that makes me more excited, which is why I'm so excited about ZAM-POP! This is a GREAT game and I'm so excited to bring it to life! Thank you all for your help in our pre-launch, which continues until January 31st.

Looking Forward to 2020...

There is a real sense of accomplishment when you succeed at something, and my biggest success came with my health in 2019. As I said I fixed my diet in 2019, so for 2020 I want to add onto this success with even greater health improvements. There are two things that I want to focus on in 2020; improved sleep and more exercise.

I have historically not been a good sleeper. I don't have good sleep habits. I stay up late. I watch TV when I shouldn't. And until recently, I loved my midnight snacks. This all added up to terrible sleep patterns. But the more I read about sleep, it's soooo important. So I'm going to improve my sleep for 2020.

I'm also going to exercise more. It's embarrassing to admit, but my life is basically writing things in front of a computer screen. I do way to much sitting and not enough moving. I want to change this.

I am going to double down with ZAM-POP! this year. This is my business project. I love it. I think it will help families come together. And it's fun. Quite honestly, ZAM-POP! is therapy for me. I love creating things, having fun and being a dork. Plus, if I can turn ZAM-POP! I will hire my son full time, and we can work on bringing it to families everywhere.

I'm excited for 2020!

I want to leave you with a few thoughts to improve your New Year's Resolutions...

  • It's not just about changing your actions or even your habits, it's about changing how you identify yourself.

  • The easiest way to make changes is to use the Bright Lines technique. This means drawing a line in the sand. For example, I don't drink calories. That's a line in the sand that sends it directly to your subconscious to execute, while bypassing your judgement mind.

  • Really think about the goals you want to accomplish. Remember this..."At first glance it may seem that we want an easy life of self-indulgence; a life of open-ended options honeycombed with easy escape hatches. But what we all really want is to be all-in…We want a mission so good, powerful, pure, and so much bigger than our petty concerns that we would freely give ourselves away to it utterly. What we really want is to sacrifice; to sacrifice for something truly worth sacrificing for." (source)

  • Finally, relax into life!
